Maciej Madalinski

Deputy Head of Delegation at European Union to Turkmenistan

Maciej MADALINSKI is Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan since September 2025. Previously he served in the same position in EU Delegation in Kazakhstan – from 2020 to 2025. He also spent 3 years in Tajikistan as Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation there (2015-2018). In the years 2011-2013, he served in Lebanon as team leader for cooperation. He has degrees in transport economics and in international relations/EU studies. His career was related to international and development cooperation with Europe’s partners for over two decades, with diverse responsibilities related to Central Asia, transport/connectivity, maritime security, or infrastructure and local development. He was also involved in EU pre-accession support of his country, Poland, and other acceding countries before 2004. He worked for several consulting companies implementing EU funded projects and for a project coordination unit. In addition to his native Polish, he speaks fluent English, Russian, French, German, Czech, fair Dutch, and has some knowledge of Kazakh and Turkish. He is currently studying Turkmen.
