Fuel and energy sector has been named among promising areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Seychelles, according to Barry Faure. This was stated during a meeting between President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure, who arrived in the country on a visit. 

Emphasizing the export potential of the national economy, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also identified the chemical and textile industries, as well as agriculture, as promising areas of cooperation. 

As noted during the meeting, neutral Turkmenistan maintains friendly relations with countries around the world, relying on its status of permanent neutrality, three times recognized by the United Nations General Assembly. The principles of sustainable development, peace, and mutual trust form the foundation of both countries' foreign policies. 

The interlocutors placed particular emphasis on cooperation within reputable international organizations, primarily the United Nations. In this regard, the Head of State expressed gratitude to the Republic of Seychelles for its support of Turkmenistan's creative initiatives and co-authorship of important UN General Assembly resolutions. 

"We will continue to coordinate the actions of our countries' foreign ministries in the international arena," said the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

During the meeting, opportunities for establishing trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Seychelles were also discussed. 

To strengthen bilateral cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan invited the Seychelles to actively participate in exhibitions and international conferences held in our country. 

Another topic of discussion was the development of humanitarian ties, particularly cooperation in tourism. 

Noting the vast opportunities for exchanging experience in this area and developing mutual tourism in the future, the Head of State confirmed our country's readiness to consider specific proposals from the Seychelles for establishing a mutually beneficial partnership.

 At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles Barry Faure exchanged best wishes, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries.
