On the meeting with the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

On July 4, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Nigeria. In this context, in order to intensify bilateral relations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan handed over to the Nigerian side a diplomatic note with a proposal to establish diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a draft of the relevant bilateral document.
